Shan Masood named Consultant for International Cricket and Players’ Affairs

Lahore, 25 October 2025:

The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed left-handed batter Shan Masood as Consultant for International Cricket and Players’ Affairs.

Masood, 36, has represented Pakistan in 44 Tests, nine One-Day Internationals and 19 T20 Internationals, scoring 3,108 runs across formats, including six Test centuries. He has also captained Pakistan in 14 Tests, including the recently concluded two-match ICC World Test Championship series against South Africa.

Under his leadership, Pakistan defeated England 2-1 last year, securing their first home Test series win over England since 2005.

In his new role, Masood will work closely with the PCB’s cricket operations department to strengthen coordination between the board and players, focusing on improving player welfare, workload management and international cricket planning.

He is likely to provide strategic input on Pakistan’s long-term cricket roadmap, drawing from his extensive experience at both domestic and international levels.
