Jamieson ruled out of England ODIs with side stiffness

Wellington, 25 October 2025:

New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against England starting Oct. 26 after experiencing stiffness in his left side during training on Saturday.

Jamieson will return to Christchurch for further assessment, with hopes of regaining fitness ahead of the home series against the West Indies beginning Nov. 5 in Auckland.

The 29-year-old pacer played in the first two T20Is against England on Oct. 18 and 20 but missed the final match on Oct. 23.

“Kyle experienced some stiffness in his side after bowling today, and we didn’t want to take any risks at this stage of the summer,” head coach Rob Walter said. “We felt it was best for him to sit out this one-day series and give himself the best chance of being ready for the West Indies tour.”

Walter said a replacement for Jamieson will be named soon.
