Raza becomes No. 1 ODI all-rounder, Maharaj tops bowlers’ rankings

Dubai, 3 September 2025:

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has claimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC men’s ODI all-rounder rankings for the first time. Raza scored 92 and an unbeaten 59 in the two-match series against Sri Lanka in Harare, while also taking a wicket. He moved past Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi, who now sit second and third.

South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj is the new No. 1 ODI bowler, overtaking Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana. Maharaj climbed to the top after taking 4 for 22 in South Africa’s series-opening win against England in Leeds.

Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka, Player of the Series against Zimbabwe after scoring 198 runs, jumped seven places to 13th among ODI batters. Teammate Janith Liyanage rose 13 spots to 29th, while Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams moved up three places to 47th.

In the T20I rankings, Afghanistan batters Ibrahim Zadran (up 12 to 20th) and Sediqullah Atal (up 346 places to 127th) made big gains following wins against UAE and Pakistan in the ongoing tri-series.

Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz moved into joint-31st among T20I batters, while bowlers Sufiyan Muqeem (22nd), Shaheen Shah Afridi (26th) and Mohammad Nawaz (43rd) also climbed.
