Brisbane, 19 July 2026:
Two emerging Indian fast bowlers are training alongside Australia’s Test squad in Brisbane as part of the long-standing high-performance partnership between the MRF Pace Foundation and Cricket Australia.
Abhishek Moond and Vasudev Prasad Singh are among a four-member MRF Pace Foundation delegation participating in a two-week program at Cricket Australia’s National Cricket Centre in Brisbane from July 13-24.
The group also includes former India fast bowler Tinu Yohannan and MRF Pace Foundation Program Manager and Head Coach M. Senthilnathan. During the visit, the delegation will observe Cricket Australia’s high-performance programs and attend Australian men’s Test squad training sessions at Allan Border Field.
The exchange is part of a development partnership that has connected Indian and Australian cricket for more than three decades.
The relationship began in 1992 following the establishment of the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai in 1987. Australian pace great Dennis Lillee played a key role in developing the foundation and strengthening its ties with Cricket Australia.
The program has given young Indian fast bowlers the opportunity to train in Australian conditions while providing Australian players valuable experience in the subcontinent.
Although initially focused on pace bowling, the partnership has expanded into a broader high-performance exchange. In recent years, Australian batters, spinners and wicketkeepers have regularly trained at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai to improve their skills against spin and adapt to Indian conditions.
Several leading cricketers have been associated with the program, including Australian fast-bowling greats Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson. On the Indian side, the foundation has helped develop fast bowlers such as Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan, contributing to the country’s rise as a pace-bowling force.
The exchange has also benefited Australia’s emerging talent, with players including Sam Konstas, Nathan McSweeney, Todd Murphy, Cooper Connolly, Josh Philippe, Ollie Peake, Corey Rocchiccioli, Joel Davies and Jason Sangha taking part in training programs in Chennai.
The partnership will continue next month when a Cricket Australia development squad travels to the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai from Aug. 1 for a two-week training camp featuring some of Australia’s top young prospects.
