The Bangladesh High-Performance team has become the fourth side confirmed for the 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series, joining Nepal, New Zealand A and the HHK Academy Kingsmen.
Northern Territory Cricket confirmed Bangladesh will return to Darwin for a third consecutive year, competing from Aug. 21-30.
Bangladesh’s participation further strengthens the international profile of the Top End Series, with the winter cricket tournament continuing to attract national development teams, Big Bash League academies and overseas T20 franchises.
Since making its tournament debut, Bangladesh has been highly competitive and reached the grand final in 2024. Several players who represented the Bangladesh HP team in Darwin have since established themselves or strengthened their positions in the senior national team.
NT Cricket CEO Gavin Dovey said Bangladesh had become an important part of the tournament’s international field.
“We are pleased to welcome Bangladesh back to the Top End Series for a third consecutive year.
“Bangladesh is home to 178 million passionate cricket fans and their participation adds both strong competition and an engaged international audience.
“Our growing relationship with the BCB is important to the development of the Series and to Darwin’s position as Australia’s home of winter cricket.”
The 2025 tournament attracted 10.2 million television viewers in Bangladesh through T Sports, contributing to the series’ expanding international broadcast audience.
The 2026 tournament will feature 30 matches over 10 days from Aug. 20-30 at TIO Stadium, DXC Arena, Gardens Oval and Freds Pass.
Nine teams are tentatively scheduled to participate, with each side playing six regular-round matches. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, with the first-place team playing the fourth-place team and the second-place team facing the third-place team.
The grand final is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30.
