Pakistan Women beat Netherlands Women by 37 runs

Gull Feroza struck an unbeaten half-century before Pakistan Women bowled out Netherlands Women for 89 to secure a 37-run win in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Group 1 match on Saturday.

After electing to bat first at the County Ground, Pakistan posted 126-6 in 20 overs, with Gull anchoring the innings with 63 not out off 52 balls. Her innings included nine fours and earned her the player of the match award.

Ayesha Zafar supported her with 32 off 29 balls as Pakistan recovered after losing Muneeba Ali early. Iris Zwilling was the pick of the Netherlands bowlers with 2-19, while Heather Siegers, Hannah Landheer, Caroline de Lange and Silver Siegers took one wicket each.

Chasing 127, Netherlands started positively through Heather Siegers, who made 24 off 16 balls, but Pakistan struck regularly to take control. Babette de Leede top-scored with 30, but Netherlands collapsed from 76-3 to 89 all out in 18 overs.

Fatima Sana and Ayesha Zafar claimed three wickets each, while Nashra Sandhu and Diana Baig picked up one apiece as Pakistan sealed two points.
