Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 2 wickets
That is all from this game. Bangladesh clinch the series but Afghanistan will hope that, before turning their heads towards the ODIs, they'll want to end the T20I series on a high. The third and final T20I is on the 5th of October at 2.30 pm GMT. Do join us earlier for the build up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Jaker Ali, the skipper of Bangladesh says they played well in the last two games, and today they were clinical with the bowlers setting the tone and showing a lot of character. Mentions as a batter, they need to take their chances and play positively. Credits Nurul Hasan for showing his experience and helping the team win.
Rashid Khan, the skipper of Afghanistan says they were excellent on the field but short of runs despite the wicket being good to bat on. Tells the batters need to realise to value their wickets and not throw them away and need to learn these things. On Abdullah Ahmadzai, Khan explains that the spinners were delivering, so he went with Noor Ahmad for the penultimate over. Reckons Abdullah Ahmadzai is the future of Afghanistan and will get many opportunities.
Shoriful Islam wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says the wicket was good for batting. Tells during the practice they did normal things and wanted to replicate it during the match. Reckons he tolds Nurul Hasan that he will try his best to help the team win.
...Presentation...
Eyebrows will be raised on Rashid Khan's captaincy for today's tweakery but this has been happening with Afghanistan in the last few matches. They have failed to win matches that they have dominated for a long period. Bangladesh on the other hand, played with an aggressive nature and got the dividends.
However, Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain counterattacked by scoring regular boundaries and putting pressure back on Afghanistan, who were dominating the first half of the innings. Rashid Khan struck in the final over of his spell, followed by Azmatullah Omarzai, who struck twice in his over to almost get the job done but a brainfade moment by Afghanistan's skipper, Rashid Khan, who went with Noor Ahmad in the penultimate over despite having Abdullah Ahmadzai and paid the price. 17 runs off the penultimate over sealed the game for Bangladesh.
A nerve-wrecking match and it is Bangladesh who cross the victory line. Also, with this win, they clinch the series with a game to go. A fantastic performance from the Bangla Tigers. It wasn't a straightforward match but credit to their batters for showing the intent throughout the innings. Despite losing three wickets, including the openers, Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan, who put in a superb performance in the first match, fell cheaply today.
