...Presentation...
There was dew around and Sri Lanka found it hard to pick wickets. However, their spinners, Jeffrey Vandersay and Maheesh Theekshana, generated plenty of turn and kept them in the game. But with such a score to defend, Sri Lanka were chasing the game throughout and eventually lost by more than five overs to spare.
Chasing such a score, Pakistan got off to a flying start, thanks to the hard-hitter Fakhar Zaman's invaluable innings. Zaman and Azam's partnership almost closed out the game but Babar Azam's wicket brought Sri Lanka back into the game. Pakistan lost Salman Agha too but with patience and grit, Mohammad Rizwan and Hussain Talat built a match-winning partnership to put the game to bed.
It was a dead-rubber, but Pakistan, after opting to bowl first, showed character with the ball, keeping it tight and building a lot of pressure. Sri Lanka's opener got off to a good start but failed to convert it into a big innings. Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed as well but once the latter fell, the floodgates opened and Faisal Akram played a big role in cleaning up the middle-order. Pavan Rathnayake played a handy innings with the tail but lost too many partners and eventually ended with a below-par score.
A comfortable chase from Pakistan and they clean-sweep the series 3-0. It was a tricky target for Pakistan to chase it down. It wasn't straightforward for them as the wicket assisted the spinners a lot, but the hosts relied on their experienced players like Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan to take them through.
