Despite being under pressure throughout the day, Justin Greaves and Shai Hope have done an incredible job of taking the game on the final day, with the latter raising his hundred as well. New Zealand looked a bit tired in the final session. They won't mind this partnership but will hope to bring a lot of energy on the final day. Matt Henry suffered a calf strain today and his absence proved pivotal. New Zealand will look for his presence as they'll back their pacers to break this partnership. All three results are possible. Join us for the action of the final day at 10 pm GMT (previous day). Join us an hour earlier for the build-up. Till then, cheers!
The script flipped dramatically after the break as the Kiwi attack came out firing on all cylinders. Jacob Duffy was the standout performer to find the outside edge of both openers, while spin and pace combined to remove Athanaze and skipper Roston Chase cheaply. Amidst the carnage, Shai Hope stood tall as a lone warrior, looking completely untroubled as he brought up a fighting fifty. Joined by a solid Justin Greaves, Hope steered the ship to Tea, but with the score reading four down and over 400 runs still needed, the visitors remained in a perilous position.
Day 4 began with a colossal task ahead for the West Indies at Hagley Oval, staring down a massive target after New Zealand’s innings effectively ended at 466/8 due to injuries. While the hosts set a daunting lead of 530 runs, veteran pacer Kemar Roach gave the Windies something to cheer about by claiming his 12th five-wicket haul. Facing a surface that looked to be easing out under the sun, the Windies openers, John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul, showed some intent. They negotiated the new ball with grit, surviving the first 11 overs unscathed to reach 20/0 at Lunch, hinting at a determined fightback.
Session Summary - 34 overs, 105 runs with the loss of no wicket. When the chips are down, you hold onto hope. West Indies are doing exactly that. A wonderful fightback from the visitors as the 140-run partnership between Shai Hope and Justin Greaves has put the game in balance going into the final day. From 72/4, they have taken the score to 212/4 with 319 runs more to win.

Short stuff again, this is around off, Hope drops his bat and sways away from it.

A huge appeal for caught behind but turned down. Tom Latham asks his fellow players if they heard something and takes it upstairs. Jacob Duffy bangs it short from around the wicket and slants on leg, Shai Hope gets in a bit of a tangle as he looks to pull but seems to miss it. Review comes up! UltraEdge shows a flat line.
