UPDATE - 7.22 pm IST (1.52 pm GMT) -Â Good news coming in from the ground. The covers are coming off, including the main square cover as well and we are still on course for a 7.50 pm IST restart.
Game stopped due to : Wet Ground Condition
UPDATE - 7.10 pm IST (1.40 pm GMT) - The waiting game continues and it seems like a few of the covers are coming back on. There is a slight drizzle but the ground staff don't want to take any chances. Let's hope that this doesn't delay the restart further.
Game stopped due to : Rain Stoppage
UPDATE - 7.05 pm IST (1.35 pm GMT) - We are now getting some news from the ground and it seems like play will restart at 7.50 pm IST (2.20 pm GMT). The contest will be a 49-over game and India Women will come out to bat for 1 more over. The innings break will be just 10 minutes. So, there's a bit of time before play resumes and that is due to those damp patches. We are also hearing that more than 23,000 people have flocked to the stadium today, which, according to a few sources, is the biggest crowd for a Women's Wolrd Cup group-stage game, pretty impressive.
UPDATE - 7.01 pm IST (1.31 pm GMT) - A bit of a delay in getting things up and running again, as some water seems to have accumulated in a few areas on the outfield. The ground staff are using different methods to clear that water but the patches do seem to be damp enough to pose a risk for the fielding side for now. Let's hope it all gets cleared soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
UPDATE - 6.48 pm IST (1.18 pm GMT) - We have great news from the middle as the covers are now coming off. There should be an official resumption time soon, so stick around. Also, with the buffer of an hour, we shouldn't lose any overs and India Women will, in all likelihood, come back out to bat out their remaining 2 overs. A few minutes later, both captains can be seen having a long conversation with the onfield umpires regarding the state of play.
UPDATE - 6.36 pm IST (1.06 pm GMT) - Live visual shows that the rain has subsided a bit and we can see ground staff out there in the middle waiting to take action but for now, the covers are staying firmly in place. Hopefully, we will get some official news soon.
UPDATE - 6.22 pm IST (12.52 pm GMT) - The drizzle has got a bit heavier now and the umpires call for covers. Let's hope that it's just a passing shower and we resume soon.

It has started to drizzle here at the DY Patil Sports Academy! It's not heavy enough to stop the play. Let's hope that it goes away.
