...THE RUN CHASE...
Chasing 224, New Zealand will back themselves to get across the line, but they’ll need a composed and disciplined effort against a quality England attack. Can the Black Caps draw first blood and take a 1-0 lead, or will the English bowlers mount a strong defense of this total? We’ll find out soon. Stay tuned for the second innings!
For New Zealand, Zakary Foulkes and Matt Henry set the tone early, striking with four and two wickets respectively. Jacob Duffy made crucial inroads through the middle overs with three scalps, while Mitchell Santner wrapped up an impressive bowling performance by dismissing Harry Brook. There was some assistance from the surface, and the Kiwi quicks made the most of the conditions. Though they leaked a few runs towards the end, it was largely due to a special knock from the English skipper at the Bay Oval.
