Dublin, 19 September 2025:
The second T20I between Ireland and England was abandoned Friday without a ball bowled because of persistent rain.
The sold-out game at Malahide was scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. local time, but heavy rain over the previous 36 hours left conditions unplayable. Umpires called off play after an inspection at 3:48 p.m.
England, who won the series opener on Wednesday behind Phil Salt’s innings, lead 1-0 in the three-match series. The final T20 is set for Sunday.
England’s white-ball team will then tour New Zealand for three ODIs and three T20s next month. Ireland will travel to Bangladesh in November following the conclusion of their home summer.
