Geelong, 15 December 2025:
Tim Seifert smashed a scintillating century to lead Melbourne Renegades to a 14-run win over Brisbane Heat in the second match of the Big Bash League on Monday night.
Seifert struck 102 off 56 balls, anchoring Renegades’ imposing total of 212 for 5 after being sent in to bat. His innings, studded with nine fours and six sixes, set the platform for a late surge as the Renegades posted the highest score of the season so far.
After Josh Brown fell early, Seifert steadied the innings alongside Mohammad Rizwan before accelerating sharply. Oliver Peake provided powerful support with a rapid 57 from 29 balls, as the pair added crucial runs in the middle and death overs. Jack Wildermuth was the pick of the Heat bowlers with 3 for 34.
Chasing 213, Brisbane Heat were kept at arm’s length despite a spirited fightback. Colin Munro led the charge with a brisk 55 from 32 balls, while wicketkeeper Jimmy Peirson threatened to pull off an unlikely heist with a blazing 50 off 22 deliveries late in the innings.
However, Will Sutherland turned the game decisively for the Renegades, finishing with 3 for 33, including the key wickets of Munro and Peirson. Jason Behrendorff and Gurinder Sandhu also chipped in with two wickets each as the Heat closed on 198 for 8.
Despite Peirson’s late flurry, the target proved too steep, handing the Renegades their second win of the season and Seifert the player-of-the-match honors.
